Rita had minimal effect on the office other than prompting me to go visit my brother and my new three week old niece, Olivia Grace Denney, near Mobile, which I wanted to do anyway.
The office will be open for buisness as usual Monday.

Water. water!
Water, water everywhere and now a drop to drink (or flush).
The plumber came and fixed our well pump! Now we are the proud owner of indoor plumbing ... that works. Oh, the things we take for granted.

Update
Karol with a K and company continue to be doing a great job of getting and keeping the office up and running post Katrina.
There isn't much NEW to report. We STILL do NOT have WATER, but we are working on it.
I hope that you and your families are recovering from Katrina.

I hear Bells Ringing
This was Tuesday ... not as Manic as Monday!
Late this afternoon we finally got telephones (and Internet) - the wonders of modern science. It has been a real drag trying to get the office up and running without a land line telephone system. And I have been in withdrawal without any internet access at the office.
Karol with a "K" and company have been doing a terrific job of bring order out of the chaos caused by Katrina.
We are seeing patients!!!!!!!! So if you have an appointment scheduled or if you missed an appointment over the hurricane come to the office, we are egar to see you.
If you see other patients walking around with urine samples it is a sign that the water pump has not been fixed yet and we have NO water - yuck; No we have NOt suddenly turned into a drug testing site for FEMA.
Come, call or email

It is another Manic Monday
I spoke with Karol our office manager this evening and she is returning Sunday. Neither of us know yet what staff will be available at this time.
We will try to open the office Monday morning. We will attempt to see not only Monday's patient, but also as best we can, those that were unable to come in because of the hurricane.
The office does have electricity, but no water or telephone service. Without telephones etc. we may have to take cash only.

Hurricane Maddness

My family and I are alive and well in Lafayette. I have been back to St. Tammany a couple of times. My house has been more or less destroyed by a couple of very large pine trees. However the office is still in relatively good shape (all things considered). The pump house and water pump are no more, but should not be too big a matter to replace. Until we have water you may have to bring a "GO CUP" if you think you might have to go while your are waiting.
I am assuming that we should have electricity by Monday, but this is just a guess.
I have not heard much from the office staff therefore until they are there and the usuall billing functions are up and running all visits will be cash only. I may have to commute from Lafayette which with the present cost of petrol is about a $40.00 adventure.
If the office is not going to be functional for any lengtrh of time I might use Dr. Bensen's office in Mandeville.
I hope that you and your families are doing well post Katernia.
That is all for now.
